At Bethesda, each resident is welcomed with open arms. They are respected and valued for their individual histories and personal stories. We feel honored to become a part of their continued stories as they call Bethesda home. Here, we would like to share a bit of our story. For generations, we have maintained our commitment to continuing our legacy of providing professional and loving care.

1924

Home founded in Connecticut by the First Hungarian Baptist Church

1929

Home moved to Michigan and now managed by the American Hungarian Baptist Union

1945

Adjacent facilities purchased to grow the home, but plans for newer quarters would be needed in a wartime climate

1957

Home was moved to 16 acres in sunny Palm Bay, Florida

1967

Expansion required due to high demand, with the addition of a 15-room wing and the first of the two-room apartments. Chapel built and dedicated.

 

1985

New apartment complex built and facility name changed to Bethesda on Turkey Creek, offering Assisted Living Services

2010

Addition of Memory Lane residences, offering Memory Care services for residents with dementia-related issues. Expansion of Assisted Living services with the addition of 12 apartments.

Today

Plans are underway for beautiful renovations to the property and grounds, including the addition of new interior common areas for our residents and outdoor walking paths designed around our community gazebo. Read our newsletter to learn more!
