Memory Care

At Bethesda, our staff is highly skilled in servicing the special needs of residents with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and other forms of memory loss. Residents’ family and loved ones, can rest easy, knowing that they are being cared for in an engaging, nurturing and compassionate environment, where respect and dignity rank supreme.

In 2010, we opened our Memory Lane, a secured-care unit that provides the security and safety needed in offering this special type of care. Both private and semi-private suites are available

To do this, our highly trained staff takes great care in understanding a resident’s history and unique behaviors including any communication and behavior barriers they may have, as well as remaining skills. From there, a structured routine is established that gives the residents a necessary sense of security and comfort. Various physical exercises and mental alert routines are incorporated in each day’s schedule that encourage daily life skills as well as reminiscing about their pasts. Because behavior challenges can often present themselves at meal time, great care is also taken in devising diet programs for our Memory Lane programs. Socialization in appropriately sized groups is always encouraged to support a sense of belonging and revitalized familiarity and companionship. We take great pride in caring for our Memory Lane residents to ensure that they feel validated, understood, and respected.
